Viruses,
SPAM, or staff who just want to play with their computers.
Small businesses face a range of different problems
surrounding security and inappropriate use, Small Business
Server 2003 provides the solutions!
Solving Problems
Security
- The fear that by being connected to the internet you
are open to hackers accessing you important data; the
fear of viruses or worms hitting your systems and bringing
them down - stopping your day to day operations. These
are all common concerns and given the publicity around
security issues - it's no surprise!
Implementing security policies and settings can seem
daunting so SBS has Wizards which are step-by-step easy
to follow guides to simplify security settings. They
help ensure all the necessary security steps are taken
while setting up your network and can advise where vulnerabilities
may exist.
Windows Small Business Server 2003 is built on Windows
Server 2003, the operating system that has increased
available services by 275% while mitigating attacks
against the server by 60%.
To prevent outsiders from accessing your system,
Small Business Server 2003 includes an internal firewall
and if required also supports external firewalls.
Windows SBS03 also includes Software restriction
policies which help prevent unapproved installations
and help protect against viruses and other attacks.
In effect it stops your users running software which
could either make your system unstable and slow (e.g.
Doom! or FIFA Football 2004) or installing downloaded
software containing viruses.
Finally – keeping up to date with the latest
security patches has been made easy. Your server can
keep its self up-to-date without any intervention
from yourself. This is done using software update
services. You can choose to have your server on a
scheduled basis (or automatically) download and install
patches made available from Microsoft.
